Salt Lake Community College has been announced as a Utah Business 2011 Green Business award winner. The 2011 Green Enterprise awards recognizes organizations that have made admirable green efforts in the State of Utah.
The College was recognized for its leadership and teaching in the fields of power management and green technologies that promote environmental sustainability.
SLCC?s Green Academy?an academic entity that houses several programs in option and renewable power fields?delivers courses in fields such as Electric Power Technologies, Green Retrofitting, Lineman Apprenticeship, Intelligent Grid Technology, Solar Photovoltaic Systems, and CNG certification that provide students with the information and abilities to prepare them for emerging opportunities in?green? technologies.
Beginning in 1995, the College started recycling paper and cardboard the institution has improved its recycling program each and every year and now boasts a campus-wide recycling program that collects much more than 1,500 bins and accepts more than 30 goods.
